Meshtastic™ is described by the creators as “An open source, off-grid, decentralized, mesh network built to run on affordable, low-power devices” We like to describe it as where radio nerd meets computer nerd. Each meshtastic™ device or node talks to one another. It’s limit, is or course, line of sight. Each node hops the data to the next node in the line. It uses radio as its medium but it’s actually networking. Computer people learning radio and radio people learning computers.

Our hope is to develop a community of like minded radio nerds on a more local level. Whatever your practical use for radio is, we are here to help you understand it and reach people just like yourself. Radio is a unique technology that has stood the test of time. Yes, it has evolved using satellites and digital data at high speeds but at the base of the technology is still 1909 and nothing works better.
